What English class makes you think of

Cooking after English class.

Thoughts and Connections that were made.

Eclairs and monuments, such as those displayed in
Washington D.C is more alike than some may realize.

Such as the ingredients

For instants the eclairs I baked today. I started with ingredients, the fundamentals, and building blocks, much like the history in which monuments are built.

The ingredients play a crucial part in both eclairs and monuments. Those ingredients will set the tone, the mood, and the design of an execution aka the final product.  After the eclairs were baked, I noticed they were hollow just like the monument on the inside. The eclair was like a shell and the shell for a monument is a physical design of it. Both the shells of an eclair and physical monument are a representation of a space with no value till filled. The eclair when filled with cream becomes enhanced with flavor. Meanwhile, the presence of the past adds meaning to the monument. Postcards from the Trenches, by Allyson Booth, states, "It seems significant, though, that quite a number of memorials to the missing...serve primarily as the architectural boundaries of empty space" mostly have space to represent something but without its nothing but a physical monument.

Some people value only the physical representation while others appreciate the sacrifices that are built. Those who see a bigger picture can appreciate both eclairs and monuments more than those who don't, but it's up to you to decide. There always gonna be people who won't like the physical representation and the historical past of both eclairs and monuments but it doesn't mean they have to change your view of them.

-A picture of my cat, to cheer you up, and who wouldn't stop asking for food while I baked eclairs.
