Why humor reveals the dark sides of a story.

Humor. This might be the most diverse type of amusement in the world. Said by who...said by me. I mean even here I am using humor. So, you might ask why humor is such an important aspect of our lives.  For that, I have an answer.  The reason humor is so important is because of its multi-use in different situations. In a way, humor helps you not only deliver a message but also lessen the effect of serious topics or any topics.  I am a consistent user of humor to deal with my problem and lessen the dark effect on my mind and the listeners' minds. War. No problem I just create a joke or avoid the main problem. Will you realize that it hurts me? probably not. I use humor for coping.  In a way, I relate to the author of " because my father always said he was the only Indian who saw Jimi Hendrix".  The story comes from a child's point of you of his past being a native American. I myself am not a native American but I relate to how he uses humor to cope with situations. In a conversation he had with his dad about "dessert storm" aka "desert storm" his dad said, "you didn't even have to fight for it". His dad, his grandpa, and all of his ancestors have fought the war to survive and prove their worth to this country. While younger generations can't exactly do that cause there is not a physical but more of moral war.  This dark side is causing, the guilt of not being able to reach the ancestor's level of fighting for freedom. The dark humor takes something very serious and makes it somewhat bearable. 

I would say that whenever I use humor I try to connect with people, but also in a way to lower the effects of this dark mysterious feeling that is eating me alive. This feeling that you try to laugh off but it still leaves this bitter aftertaste.  When reading the story about the author I could taste the bitterness every time there would be a joke.  Humor reveals another side of the story and personality. That's why it is so important to understand humor. You won't just see this goofy side but this troubling side. You understand the person on a deeper level. That's why I think humor is important in our lives.

I am sorry this is not the best blog but I had a very bad weekend.

 Face it we all didn't meet the reading goal.  Or maybe it's just me.  Throughout the week we have talked about meeting our goal to read at least 2 hours a week. But let's just face it, most of us are either near the end or not only halfway done with the book.  Personally, I am going to rat myself out on this one but I am halfway finished with my book, don't get me wrong I absolutely love the book and I love the author who wrote the book, but I just haven't had time to sit down and enjoy the book as much as I want to. I don't like rushing through the book so when I found out about the deadline I was kinda iffy about being able to finish the book. I could either finish the book by spending all night reading or b read another new book parallelly to what I am reading now, but that would require me to go to the library and check the book again. Why do festival rides make me think of books.

 Why festival rides do make me think of books? This thought came to me when I was hanging upside down on the famous fireball ride at Troy Daze.  When I went to Troy Daze (on Saturday aka yesterday) I was very nervous and scared because I hadn't yet written my blog and had no idea what to write. So as I was standing in line for this ride called Fireball, it was not exactly a rollercoaster but it was close to it. The ride process is going in a big circle that speeds up and goes in a loop and backward and then forward and it keeps repeating in that same pattern. So why exactly did this ride make me think of books and English. Well, the process to be exact. You see when you read you go through five stages of grief and happiness just like with rides.  Stage one: You choose a ride. Like you choose a book. There is two point of views in my brain

 Help me!!! I have two voices in my head. There are two points of view in my brain. Many of us have voices in our brains. I hope so because I am not trying to win a ticket to the mental institution.   For me, at least, I have commentary in my brain: one narrates everything from the first point of view, and the second describes everything from the second point of view. Let me explain.   Let us say there is a hypothetical situation. I am in Paris, walking somewhere, and in my head, I say, "I need to get to this cafe." I am narrating the first point because I need to do it. It's like an unimportant goal, just like a reminder. But then, for example, I would have friends in that cafe. Now, my narration would be, "YOU need to get to the cafe on time, or else they will see YOU as irresponsible and incapable of managing YOUr time."
